Colin Clarke i Maj Vernell

Els 2 braços de la Mariel

A graduate in History at the University of Manchester, Colin has been involved in each stage of the film-making process, from its conception through to the post-production stage. He is one of the main pillars of both this work and others of Mariel’s previous audio-visual projects.
Out of sight in the background, always working under pseudonyms, Maj Vernell focuses wholly on the creative process, thereby “freeing the audience from inevitable distractions arising from the widely held belief that a director’s work is closely related to his personality.”
On the musical side, it is important to distinguish between his musical composition and arrangements in the field of popular music from those in his more academic musical work. Currently, Maj is finishing his Concerto for Voices, Piano and Electro acoustic Orchestra, which has not yet been released.
His style has become increasingly defined in the audio-visual sphere. This can be clearly seen in projects undertaken -together with Mariel and Colin -with the French choir Hanacpachap and the duet under the name UP, along with the short film Subliminally Explicit. This process of artistic development has culminated in the
documentary film Entre 2 GEGANTS.
